Charles Kelley Announces ‘Lonely Girl’ as Next Single

Following his GRAMMY-nominated hit, “The Driver,” Charles Kelley has announced that “Lonely Girl” is his new single.

The track, written by Chris Stapleton and Jesse Frasure, is one that the Lady Antebellum frontman has wanted to put his spin on for years.

“I’ve been wanting to cut this song since I heard it about three years ago,” Kelley admitted. “At the time, it wasn’t the right fit for Lady A, so when we started digging into my solo project, I knew it would be a big part of the record. It’s not easy to follow Stapleton’s demo, I mean he’s the best singer in our genre, but I put my own little spin on it and it’s turned out to be a favorite live.”

“Lonely Girl” is the second single from Kelley’s solo album The Driver, which was released last month.

Fans can catch him this Sunday, April 3 on CBS at 8/7c as he performs on the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards. He will soon embark on The Driver Tour, with special guest Josh Kelley, starting April 9 at The Fillmore in Washington, D.C.
