Maren Morris Finds Alternative Creative Outlet in Music Video Production
Morris is becoming a triple threat in music production, molding together her love of singing, songwriting and now the making of music videos.
It’s safe to assume that Maren Morris is a creative individual. She makes music for a living and even writes most of her own songs. But her artistic side doesn’t stop there because Morris has found a new love for the making of music videos.
Throughout her up-and-coming career in country music, Morris has released two videos and learned a lot about the behind-the-scenes process of those videos while in production for them. This sparked an affinity for the visual outlet and she has plans to continue mastering the art of the music video.
“It’s an outlet for my…another creative side I never knew I had, because you don’t always get the opportunity to make a music video. But, I feel like I know a little bit more now about what goes into it, and storyboarding, and writing treatments, and all that stuff, different angles, directing. It makes a little bit more sense to me now, so it makes thinking about future music videos a lot more fun because I know what sort of goes on behind the scenes now,” she said.
Most recently, Morris released her second music video for her current single, “80’s Mercedes,” which involved a lot of interesting visual elements and a storytelling treatment that matched the theme of the song overall. Being able to be a part of that video and looking forward to what’s next, Morris can’t wait to continue developing her skills in the craft.
