The Band Perry Takes on 2016 Olympics in Rio

Back in April when it was announced that The Band Perry’s song, “Live Forever,” would be one of Team USA’s anthems for the 2016 Rio Olympics, the trio didn’t know if they would be heading down to South America in support of the team. But after reintroducing themselves into the country world with their “Comeback Day,” they were ready to take on the world and decided to make their way to the Brazilian city.

The band touched down on Tuesday for the competitions, where they immediately dove right in to catch Michael Phelps win more gold medals and see The Final Five earn their spot on the top with their golds as well.

As a part of the Today show’s coverage down in Rio, The Band Perry stopped by their set on Copacabana Beach on Thursday morning (8/11) to perform their single and Olympic anthem, “Live Forever,” for the crowd and a few of the athletes, including some Team USA divers. They also made the television debut of their new single, “Comeback Kid.”

Who knows what’s next in store for The Band Perry during their trip, but we can be sure that they will be keeping us all updated along the way through their Twitter and Instagram feeds. Reid, Kimberly and Neil have all already posted their adventures throughout their first day there and we’re betting that they put even more pictures and videos up as the Games go on.
